So we talked late and laughed

Your smile when you listened
Your chest rising and falling with each breath
Your easy gait when you walked
Your lips when you said you loved me
I stared so I wouldn't forget

And you held me tight
Your arms sheltering me
Your curved shoulders under my head
Your knee touching mine
Your gentle hands in my hair
Keeping me close
I felt so I wouldn't forget

But I knew you'd leave
You couldn't stay
So I waited

All the time you were with me
I thought of you leaving
I missed you already
At night in your arms
As you dreamed beautiful things
I cried to myself
Quiet
Alone
In your arms

Then
You were gone

I miss your arms
Your eyes
God I miss your arms
I miss your smile
Your love
And your touch
I miss being with you
Missing you even in your arms
As you hold me to you
And waiting for the tears
When you leave.
